The Story of Thanh Giong:

“Long ago, in Giong village, there was an old woman who had been childless her whole life. One day, she went to the field to weed, and suddenly saw a very large footprint. She placed her foot on the footprint, and when she returned home, unexpectedly, the old woman became pregnant. Nine months and ten days later, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. But strangely, the baby was born unable to speak or smile, just lying still like a statue.

One day, the An invaders sent troops to invade our country. They were ferocious and brutal, destroying everything they went. At that time, the king was bewildered and worried, and immediately ordered a search throughout the country for talented people to fight the invaders.

Hearing the sound of the command trumpet, the baby suddenly spoke: “Mother, please invite the envoy in here!” The envoy entered and saw a handsome and intelligent baby boy, and asked: “Do you want to go fight the invaders?” The baby pointed towards the invaders and said: “I will defeat these invaders!”

The envoy returned to report to the king, and the king was very happy, and immediately sent people to bring gifts to the baby’s house. At this time, the baby suddenly grew as fast as blowing wind, stretching out to become a tall, imposing, and majestic hero. The hero reached out, and a bamboo tree nearby suddenly uprooted itself, transforming into a shiny sword. The hero picked up the sword, majestic.

The hero rode an iron horse, waved his magic sword, and charged into battle. The sound of iron hooves echoed, the light of the magic sword shone brightly, and the An invaders were scattered and fled in disarray. The hero chased after them, killing all the invaders and liberating the country. After defeating the An invaders, the hero led his troops back, and then once again, returned to the form of a baby boy, riding his horse and flying to the sky, leaving an immortal mark in the hearts of the people.”
